Bridging Hope employs professional advocates who are ready to provide immediate support when it matters most. These experienced and caring people help survivors gain the knowledge they need to process the aftermath of an assault or abuse, receive any necessary medical care (including forensic exams), report the assault to legal authorities, or follow up on cases that may not have been addressed in a sufficient manner. They do all this with utmost discretion and support for the survivor.

Receiving a professional health exam in the aftermath of a sexual assault is often critical – both to assess the health and wellbeing of the survivor, as well as to collect evidence and assist authorities in the prosecution of any legal or criminal outcomes. Bridging Hope understands the delicate nature of these exams and offers expert, discreet, and considerate care.

Bridging Hope offers free and confidential counseling and support group services to survivors of sexual assault. These caring and open-minded professionals and peers can be crucial in helping survivors to cope with the psychological aftermath of assault or abuse.

Bridging Hope is committed to the advocacy of and justice for sexual assault and abuse victims. That is why we are a Sexual Assault Kit Initiative (SAKI) site. These kits aim to improve the criminal justice response to sexual assault by focusing on the backlog of unsubmitted or un-tested sexual assault kits.

Knowledge and understanding are critical to decreasing sexual assault and abuse, as well as improving responses to incidents and survivor outcomes. That is why our advocates work hard to empower residents of our six-county region to understand what sexual violence includes, how to avoid it, and how to respond to it.
